Hamamat Montiah is a beautiful Ghanaian Model and Entrepreneur living in a village in the Northern part of Ghana.
She was selected to walk on the NYFW runway for Fashion Lifestyle Brand, Studio 189.
The already mother of two beautiful girls walked on the runway in one of Studio 189’s 2023 Spring collection designs; a long skirt and crop top whilst pregnant.
Her beauty brand @iamhamamat is one of the leading companies in Ghana promoting the use of Shea Butter globally.
Being Miss Malaika in 2006 and a model of Africa Universe in 2007, Hamamat has been championing the use of organic products.
In her village, she grows her farm produce and works for hand in hand with the women she sources her raw materials.
Her message to the masses has always been education on the health benefits of Shea Butter.
She displays on her social media how shea butter is made and its use not only being topical but for cooking as well.
Hamamat was featured in the New York Fashion Week Show recently where she was seen on the runway heavily pregnant in her African-made wear.
The show was put together by a wide variety of people mainly Africans supporting Studio One Eighty Nine-an artisan-produced fashion lifestyle brand.
The brand produces hand-crafted African textiles and operates a store in Osu-Accra, Ghana.
It was a show featuring regular people on the runway dancing to African soundtracks while displaying beautiful African-made outfits (Spring Summer 2023; women’s and men’s collections).
Hamamat in her own words said “what an honour to close this beautiful runway for New York Fashion Week. I love the story behind it all and am so happy to support it.”
She then used her platform to remind pregnant women about how honourable it is to be pregnant and be vitally alive. She inspired them to allow their bodies to naturally prepare for the new life ahead despite how difficult it might seem to love the new body with all the stretch marks.
